Datability – the motto of CeBIT 2014 – stands for sustainable and responsible handling of data and identities. Secure identities in a digital and networked society call for comprehensive technological know-how combined with innovative solutions, systems and products. Bundesdruckerei GmbH is addressing this complex task under the term Full ID | Management.
At this year’s high-tech trade show in Hanover, from March 10-14, the company is presenting its Full ID | Management for companies, public authorities and institutions. During a tour of the company’s booth in the Public Sector Parc, Hall 7, booth C18, visitors can find out about the various applications ranging from user input of ID data for the Governance Card at the self-service terminal to tomorrow’s airport management.
The Full ID | Governance solution kit
Protecting data, knowledge and technology has become an important task for companies, public authorities and institutions. Bundesdruckerei has developed a Full ID | Governance solution kit that offers the technologies, services and know-how needed to help them to implement their processes. Full ID | Governance is designed for use in all areas of an organisation: from staff and visitor management, to protecting data and communication, right through to the administration of users and rights, as well as building and infrastructure management. This kit also features training and consultancy services for export control, compliance and IT security.
Discover solutions from Bundesdruckerei
At Bundesdruckerei’s booth, visitors will be able to find out about some of the company’s solutions and products. Before starting the tour, visitors will need a Governance Card and a sample passport. At a self-service terminal, they can enter their data before the document is produced. At the first stop on the tour, they will be able to see just how secure and fast access management is for buildings, rooms and systems thanks to the Governance Card. At a PC, visitors can authenticate themselves and submit an application for a business trip which they can then sign using the Governance Card. And at the next stop, visitors can use their card to purchase a snack.
The new Full ID | Border control solution from Bundesdruckerei is on show at other stops around the booth. Thanks to the ePassport, travellers no longer have to wait in line before the border control desk. The new eGates enable fast and secure automated border control. An innovative monitoring and control system runs in the background and allows border police to respond in a flexible manner to current passenger numbers and security situations. Tablets or mobile phones can also be integrated into Full ID | Border, so that border police can access the background system directly at the eGate.
Visitors to CeBIT will also be able to see the possibilities which Bundesdruckerei sees for the future of Full ID | Management. At a terminal, they can transfer the ID data previously entered from the Future Card to their smartphone and then use the mobile ID temporarily - to hire a car, for instance. The Future Card could also mean new possibilities at hotels. The visitor can conveniently check in with his ID app and no longer has to fill in any forms. An ID-based electronic room key is sent directly to the guest’s smartphone. Moreover, thanks to the mobile payment app no cards or cash are needed, for instance, when buying a souvenir in the boutique next door.
At the final stop, visitors will find out how the German ID card can make online banking easier and more secure. Combined with the ID card PIN, the German ID card could very soon replace the smsTAN methods currently used for online bank transfers.
