Cambrios Technologies has been named a 2014 Edison Awards Winner, receiving a Bronze award for its ClearOhm coating material. The distinguished awards, inspired by Thomas Edison’s persistence and inventiveness, recognize innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the global economy.
“During the past year, Cambrios has received notable accomplishments, establishing strong partnerships with large vendors to ensure continued growth in the commercialization of its ClearOhm material,” said Frank Bonafilia, Edison Awards’ executive director. “We congratulate Cambrios and look forward to hearing about the company’s ongoing success through new applications brought to market with its ClearOhm ink.”
Edison Award nominees are judged by more than 3,000 senior business executives and academics from across the nation. Cambrios’ ClearOhm material is made from highly conductive, single-crystal silver nanowires, offering significantly higher optical and electrical performance than incumbent materials such as indium tin oxide (ITO). ClearOhm material already is used in the world’s most innovative products such as OLED, OPV devices, and large touch panels and displays.
“Cambrios is honored to receive the Edison Award for our ClearOhm material,” said Sri Peruvemba, CMO at Cambrios Technologies. “Our innovative material delivers an inexpensive, yet high-quality solution enabling the development of numerous applications and products from tier one global companies including LG, TPK, NISSHA, Lenovo, Hitachi and 3M.”
