The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd. present the annual awards for the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product, and graphic designs produced around the world.
The DS4800 Series of 2D array imagers offer enterprise-class scanning capabilities in a modern industrial design to enhance the retail point of sale (POS) environment. It is the industry’s first scanner to include a capacitive trigger that allows retailers to select the scanning input modality (tap/swipe/press) to provide optimal productivity and customer experience.
The TC55 combines the features of a traditional enterprise-class mobile computer with the form factor and functionality of a smartphone running the Jelly Bean version of the Android operating system (OS). The pocket-sized, all-touch computer has integrated data capture capabilities and is built to withstand the wear and tear of industrial environments.
Now in its 64th year, Good Design honors the annual achievements of the best industrial and graphic designers and world manufacturers for their pursuit of extraordinary design excellence.
“The innovative design of the DS4800 Series and TC55 reflect the unique capabilities offered by these solutions to capture and exchange business-critical information,” said Curt Croley, senior director, Innovation & Design, Enterprise Technology Office, Zebra Technologies. “With its recent acquisition of Motorola Solutions’ Enterprise business, Zebra will continue to offer solutions that optimize the experience for enterprise workers.”
