“Organic solar cell technology has come a long way and now we are able to confidently produce solar cells with high efficiency and good lifetime in near endless quantities,” said an infinityPV spokesperson.
One of the major obstacles in the commercialization of organic solar cells has been the complexity of the process and the diverse sets of disciplines encountered during production.
A strategic partnership between the Danish companies infinityPV and GM (Grafisk Maskinfabrik) has been established consolidating competencies in all areas of organic solar cell manufacture in one place. “When we say everything, it is with a capital E. Everything is offered all the way from the design of the roll-to-roll platform and machinery, the processing, the materials, electronics, the post manufacture, the automated robotic integration, and most importantly, the training and inauguration of the manufacturing line,” infinityPV’s spokesperson said.
The partnership between infinityPV and GM means that infinityPV will be able to offer complete pilot lines for organic solar cell production from material synthesis to production, quality control, and post handling. “We have faith that the organic solar cell revolution is within reach and hopefully we will help solve the energy needs of the future,” says infinityPV. “A partnership with GM ensures that we can deliver high quality production equipment at a competitive price that will guide the development of this unique technology and place Denmark in a leading role within this technology.”
