Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, will present its latest technology advancements for the electronics industry at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021.
For the first time, the world’s largest electronic tradeshow will take place virtually as an all-digital event from Jan. 11-14, 2021.
Merck KGaA develops and manufactures leading-edge display and semiconductor materials used in almost every modern electronic device in the world.
“The global pandemic has changed the world forever and has accelerated digital transformation like nothing else before. The fact that CES 2021 is exclusively online is only one example of the shift towards an increasingly digital world that is here to stay also post-pandemic,” said Kai Beckmann, member of the Executive Board of Merck KGaA and CEO Performance Materials. “With our high-tech solutions, we are a key enabler for all digital solutions. The focus is particularly on new forms of flexible, location-independent working. The exponential growth of data we have already been witnessing will be further accelerated by remote work and virtual collaboration among colleagues. Our broad range of innovative materials makes it possible to generate, collect, save, process and display this massive amount of data.”
In many technologies that will accompany our digital life in the future, further innovations are only possible through materials research enabling the development of increasingly powerful computer chips or even new computing architectures, which are needed to bring artificial intelligence and machine learning to the next level.
Another example is neuromorphic systems, which are modeled on the human brain.
Merck KGaA facilitates these developments.
The integration of Intermolecular and its unique processes and R&D capabilities allows Merck KGaA to considerably increase the speed in developing game-changing innovations in the electronics material space.
