Zebra Technologies Corporation announced that Comercial Kywi, a home and personal care retailer in Ecuador, selected Zebra TC20 mobile computers and ZD420 printers to improve worker productivity and optimize in-store workflows.
Comercial Kywi needed to increase its associates’ efficiency and productivity so they could focus on improving the customer experience.
By deploying more than 250 enterprise-class Android-based TC20 mobile computers and almost 100 ZD420 printers with removable battery packs, Comercial Kywi associates can now quickly print 80 product labels in five minutes helping improve its price checking and category management processes.
“Comercial Kywi has taken an innovative approach to its use of technology by incorporating mobile solutions in its store operations,” said Diego Montenegro, store service operator, Comercial Kywi. “Zebra’s TC20 mobile computers and ZD420 printers have allowed us to move away from a manual process and significantly reduce the time spent on price checking and labeling from three weeks to only a day and a half during peak shopping periods.”
Before using Zebra’s mobile solutions in its stores, Comercial Kywi associates needed to go to a backroom to get product information, then proceed to a fixed printing station for labels and return to the store aisle to update the prices of each product.
Zebra’s TC20 touch mobile computers were selected for their stylish and intuitive smartphone-like design, reliability and long battery life. The integrated barcode scanning, push-to-talk and Zebra OneCare support empower Comercial Kywi store associates to delight customers in new ways.
With Zebra’s ZD420 printers, Comercial Kywi has extended its spot printing capabilities, aligned operations with its data systems and optimized front-line worker productivity.
The printers are supported by Zebra’s Print DNA suite of applications, utilities and developer tools that deliver a superior printing experience through heightened security and simplified remote management. These features make it easy for Comercial Kywi to deploy and manage their fleet of printers across different locations.
“With the on-demand economy and the need to improve the customer experience in stores, companies are investing in mobile solutions to deliver secure, efficient service,” said Dieter Avella, sales director, Zebra Technologies for NOLA. “Zebra’s mobility solutions enable Comercial Kywi to deliver optimized, frictionless in-store workflows for shoppers and associates alike, placing the organization at the forefront of retail innovation.”
