In the evaluation of climate-protecting technologies and applications by the German Society for Consumer Studies (DtGV), Osram’s patent portfolio ranked in the top quarter of a total of 3,000 companies.
The award as Top Innovator is based on the number of patents that support mitigation or adaptation to climate change.
Osram is aware of its responsibility as an international company and focuses on energy efficiency at its corporate sites as well as in its products and intelligent lighting solutions.
Osram, which is now part of the ams Osram Group, has now received the GreenTech Award for its climate-friendly patent portfolio.
This award honors companies and research institutions for inventiveness in relation to climate protection. The study refers to the patent class Y02 of the "Cooperative Patent Classification", which was newly created in the course of the climate discussion.
The study was based on the global number of patents granted to German companies in the period from 2019 to 2020.
Companies with a ranking in the leading group are among the Top Innovators 2021/2022.
