Zebra Technologies announced that Sogegross Group, a food distributor and retailer, is leveraging Zebra VisibilityIQ Foresight to centrally manage its Zebra TC56, TC57and MC3300 Android mobile computers in its stores and distribution centers.
Zebra PartnerConnect business partner MIPS Informatica is helping manage the initial phase of the roll-out, which is expected to be deployed on about 2,000 devices before the end of next year.
Based in Genova with more than 2,700 employees, Sogegross Group is a leader in food distribution in Italy. It has nine specialized distribution hubs and 260 points of sale across central and northern Italy including cash & carry stores as well as retail and online outlets.
For many years, Sogegross Group has used Zebra mobile devices, scanners and printers, managing them manually on a local store or distribution center basis. This led to inventory inaccuracies for its device fleet, unnecessary repairs and missing devices.
VisibilityIQ Foresight powered by Zebra Savanna impressed the team as it allows them to right-size their device fleet inventories, optimize device availability and forecast future needs for smoother operations.
“VisibilityIQ Foresight is more than a device management tool,” said Marco Staiti, Information Systems Director, Sogegross Group. “We can see all live and historical data relating to the health and usage of our Zebra devices in a single cloud-based, color-coded dashboard which translates into action-ready insights and predictive intelligence. This means we can monitor battery condition and connectivity along with other data, enabling us to identify problems before they occur.”
Sogegross Group has already experienced a 50% decrease in service desk time along with a 40% decrease in IT staff time spent on critical or unexpected issues by moving to an automated process.
