Tageos Highlights New RFID Products at RFID Journal Live! 2022

Presents all-new RFID inlays and tags for on-metal use, retail, food supply chain and more applications.

Tageos Highlights New RFID Products at RFID Journal Live! 2022
    05.17.22
Tageos launched its latest RAIN RFID (UHF) products optimized for specific application areas, including the compact and high-performance on-metal solution EOS-232 U8; and the EOS-450 M730, which combines versatility with leading-edge performance for use cases typically found in the food sector, and particularly in QSR (Quick Service Restaurants).

Less than two months after the arrival of its new majority investor Fedrigoni Group, and on the occasion of the RFID industry’s leading event, RFID Journal Live! 2022 in Las Vegas, Tageos is introducing a range of new products, re-confirming the sustainable growth and expansion that both companies want to foster and reinforce through their partnership.

The new EOS-232 U8 inlay combines a compact form factor with a smart substrate and antenna design, which make it particularly suitable for a wide range of on-metal applications in retail and beyond. Its special feature is a foldable section that makes up roughly one half of the overall inlay size of 31.4 x 18 mm.

Designed for RF-critical metallic surfaces, the foldable part can stick out like a flag, enabling the UHF inlay to use the object’s surface as an extension of its antenna structure, which in turn ensures literally "outstanding" inlay performance and read range.

Hence, the EOS-232 U8 inlay is particularly suitable for item-level tagging and inventory visibility applications in retail segments such as beauty, cosmetics, electronics and groceries, as well as other segments such as pharma, healthcare, automotive and aviation.

The new RAIN RFID product is equipped with NXP’s UCODE 8 IC, which features a self-adjust capability, a product status flag for EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) applications, pre-serialized 96-bit EPC, and a brand identifier.

EOS-232 U8 inlays comply with global frequency standards and are available in dry and PP (polypropylene) plastic-face delivery formats in large quantities as of now.

EOS-450 M730, Tageos' next new product, features a less unusual build, but an equally well-defined customer and application benefit. Based on an antenna design targeted at ARC Specification Z, EOS-450 M730 inlays are primarily aimed at applications related to the food and quick service restaurant sector. The QSR industry just recently started embracing RFID technology at scale, particularly for inventory management and ingredient tracing.

Other application areas comprise retail, logistics and industrial segments, where the inlay is ideally suitable for inventory visibility and item-level tagging. The new product combines moderate size (72 x 10 mm) with robust performance on a wide range of surfaces.

EOS-450 M730 inlays are equipped with Impinj M730 chips that come with 128-bit EPC memory and provide high performance, fast inventory capability, and advanced features for next-generation, universal RAIN RFID inlays. They comply with global frequency standards and are available in dry, wet and paper-face delivery formats in large quantities as of now.

First presented at RFID Journal Live!, Tageos is now further extending its highly sustainable Zero Max product line with the new EOS-241 U9 Zero Max ETSI inlay. The company’s EOS Zero™ product family ensures maximum performance with minimum environmental impact by using FSC certified paper as a substrate, and, in the case of Zero Max, leveraging high-quality eRFID precision laser-cut antennas from All4Labels.

EOS-241 U9 Zero Max ETSI is the highly sustainable version of its sibling EOS-241 U9. Both are suitable for inventory management in a wide range of non-food industries including retail apparel, supply chain, logistics, pharmaceutical and healthcare. Hence, EOS-241 U9 Zero Max ETSI provides important industries in Europe and other ETSI geographies with a 100% plastic-free, heavy metal-free, conflict material-free, and very low carbon-footprint alternative to conventional RFID inlays.

Based on NXP’s UCODE 9 IC, Tageos’ new RAIN RFID EOS-340 U9 inlays are designed to seamlessly replace diverse “dual-dipole” UHF products based on discontinued IC families but are not limited to just that. Providing long read ranges when applied to plastic or cardboard surfaces independent of tag orientation, these high-quality products are particularly suitable for applications such as inventory visibility, supply chain management and parts management in automotive, industrial manufacturing and logistics.

Leveraging the latest Impinj M700 IC capabilities, the brand-new EOS-261 M730 FCC RFID inlays combine high performance and durability on various surfaces with a remarkably small footprint (44 x 20 mm). This qualifies them as the market's smallest inlay to meet ARC specifications F, G, N, Q, W1, W2, W3, W4, W5 and W6, and Y.

Best suited for operation in FCC regions, EOS-261 M730 FCC is an ideal fit for a wide range of item-level applications in retail, particularly apparel, accessories, consumer electronics, home goods and toys, as well as logistics, automotive and industrial manufacturing.

“With the wide range of our latest RFID inlays and tags that we are introducing and presenting at this years’ RFID Journal Live! 2022, we are further diversifying and broadening our product portfolio, while supporting customer and market requirements worldwide. By launching these exciting innovations suited to many applications and segments, we are truly delivering on our promise – to satisfy our customers and accelerate our sustainable growth,” said Nicolas Jacquemin, chief sales officer at Tageos.
