ams OSRAM will demonstrate its diverse products, which are behind many of today’s most exciting innovations at CES 2024, Jan. 9-12 in Las Vegas. Invited attendees will experience live demonstrations of the company’s industry-leading sensors, LEDs, lasers and analog front ends.
As a leader in optoelectronic solutions, ams OSRAM continues its long-standing participation in the CES show. A smart watch demonstration will show two of the company’s recently released products: OSRAM MULTILED SFH 7018 infrared LED and AS7058 analog front end. Both products improve the quality and reliability of vital sign measurements for wearables.
The SFH 7018 infrared red and green LED increases total radiant intensity by more than 40 percent over the previous product. The AS7058’s ultra-low noise characteristics produce a very high optical signal-to-noise ratio, which reduces power consumption by driving the device’s LEDs at lower current while maintaining high signal integrity.
“ams OSRAM is shaping the future of technology – whether it’s lasers and sensors that make autonomous vehicles safer; emitters, sensors and analog front ends for measuring vital signs and temperatures; or an integrated RGB laser module for augmented reality (AR) glasses,” said Conrad Rodriguez, Sr. Vice President of Sales, Americas Region. “We are excited to show these leading innovations and more at one of the most prominent trades shows on the planet."
ams OSRAM’s meeting space will include the following displays:
• LiDAR demonstration features a wavelength-stabilized infrared pulsed edge-emitting laser diode. The laser diode offers strongly reduced wavelength shift over temperature and increasing signal to noise ratio to enable higher detection range.
• Smart watch wearable device measures vital signs thanks to the new AS7058 front end analog and SFH 7018 infrared red and green LED. The products offer highly flexible LED and photodiode arrangements with fast signal acquisition.
• Position sensors are ideal for automotive applications due to their high reliability and fully automotive qualifications. The demonstration shows how ams OSRAM’s unique, patented technology protects sensors from magnetic stray field interference.
• Near-to-Eye AR glasses use the company’s Vegalas integrated RGB laser module. Vegalas is a state-of-the art, high performance light source in an extremely compact package that makes it ideal for AR applications.
• Hands-on-detection demonstration illustrates how infrared LEDs and VCSELs, along with capacitive sensors, can determine if a driver’s hands are on the steering wheel. Hands-on detection is an important safety feature in today’s semi-autonomous vehicles that require drivers to monitor the road.
• Digital temperature demonstration shows the AS6221 sensor, which reaches an accuracy of ±0.09°C. The sensor combines compact size, exceptional accuracy and low current consumption for healthcare applications, wearables and devices requiring high-performance thermal information.
