    IDTechEx Show! USA 2019 Looks Ahead at Printed and Flexible Electronics

    Smart packaging, in-mold electronics, flexible displays and more are among the topics for today’s sessions.

    IDTechEx Show! USA 2019 Looks Ahead at Printed and Flexible Electronics

    Led by speakers from corporate giants including AB-inbev, United Technologies Research Center, Microsoft and Intel, IDTechEx Show! USA 2019 in Santa Clara, CA will hold its closing session today in Santa Clara, CA with an eye on end users as well as the latest developments in the industry.

    Organized by IDTechEx, PE USA 2019 features seven co-located concurrent programs during its eight tracks, including two sessions on Printed Electronics as well as single sessions on Sensors, Wearables, Internet of Things, Graphene, Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage.

    Printed Electronics is the focus of two tracks. The first track opens with Smart Packaging and Integrated Systems, with presenters from United Technologies Research Center, AB-inbev, Inuru GmbH, SES RFID Solutions GmbH and US ARMY RDECOM ARDEC (US).

    3D Printed Electronics and In-Mold Electronics is up next, and will be covered by Parsons, Neotech AMT GmbH, Optomec, TactoTek and Sun Chemical.

    After lunch, Conductive Inks: New Capabilities and New Applications will be highlighted by E2IP Technologies/GGI Solutions, Liquid X Printed Metals, ELANTAS Europe GmbH, and Electroninks Incorporated.

    The first Printed Electronics track closes with Printing Developments and Breakthroughs, with talks by Asada Mesh, CondAlign AS, Advanced Decorative Systems and the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI).

    The second Printed Electronics track begins with Flexible Transparent Conductive Films and Barriers, and features talks from Flectrode Technology Limited, C3Nano, Chasm Advanced Materials, LPKF Laser & Electronics AG and ZEON Corporation.

    Flexible, Foldable OLED and Quantum Dot Displays is the next topic, featuring presentations from Royole Corporation,Visionox, Universal Display, Nanosys and Kateeva.

    After lunch, the topic of Flexible, Foldable Reflective, MicroLED Displays and Lighting will be analyzed by leaderfs from NthDegree Technologies, VueReal, LunaLEC and Ynvisible.

    Flexible and Novel Energy Harvesting Technologies closes the second Printed Electronics track. This topic will be covered by presenters from Arkema, Organic Electronic Technologies P.C., ARMOR SAS and CSEM.

    The Sensors track begins with a session on Gas Sensors, including insights from C2Sense, Alpha Szenszor, SPEC Sensors, Particles Plus and IDT.

    Sensors then offers two sessions on Flexible, Stretchable, Printed and Large Area Sensors. The late morning session will include speakers from InnovationLab GmbH, Peratech, KAUST, IMEC and Tekscan. The afternoon session will include talks by Arjowiggins, Holst Centre TNO, Berkeley Sensor & Actuator Center (BSAC) and Acellent Technologies.

    The Sensors track ends with HMI Sensing Innovations, with executives from csi entwicklungstechnik GmbH, Novasentis, Cambridge Mechatronics Ltd. and SigmaSense.

    The Wearables track opens with a segment on Electronic Skin Patches. This session will have talks by Medtronic Diabetes, Nissha GSI Technologies, Eastprint Incorporated, Eccrine Systems and Epicore Biosystems.

    The Wearables in Healthcare session will include talks by Invictis Technologies, Maxim Integrated, Sensoria Health, Empatikca and Delektre.

    After lunch, Hearables is the focus of the Wearables track, with talks by Europlasma, Valencell, Aware and Energous Corporation. The Wearables track will close with XR: AR, VR, MR and More. Speakers include leaders from Bose Corporation, Plessey Semiconductors, RaayonNova and IDTechEx.

    The Internet of Things track offers a wide range of topics, from Predictive Maintenance, RFID and AI and Big Data. The Predictive Maintenance and Industrial IoT segment will have talks by VALQUA, Ltd., Siemens Digital Factory, Intel Industrial & Energy Solutions Division, IOT Group, Imprint Energy and Arm.

    The Booming RFID Industry will feature Stora Enso Oyj/ Renewable Packaging, RAIN RFID and Voyantic Ltd, CISC Semiconductor/Microelectronics Technology inc. (MTI Group), Syndicate RFID Securitag Assembly Group Co. and Murata Electronics NA/Metalcraft.

    After lunch, RFID Sensors will be covered by Powercast Corporation, ON Semiconductor, Renesas Electronics America Inc., IoT and Infrastructure Business Unit and Smooth & Sharp Corporation.

    The Internet of Things track ends with AI and Big Data, covered by Software AG, Microsoft, Orange Silicon Valley and Progress DataRPM.

    Graphene Applications - High Volume opens the Graphene track, with presentations by leaders from University of Manchester, Qenos, Ceylon Graphene Technologies Pvt Limited, University of Manchester/Grafine Ltd., PPG and Raymor Industries, Inc.

    The Graphene track then heads into Alternative Routes: Advanced Carbons and Graphene Production, with presentations by OCSiAl, Cabot Corporation, The Graphene Council, NTherma Corporation and Texas A&M University.

    Academic Overview: Key Graphene Advancements leads off the Graphene track after lunch. This will include talks from Imperial College London, Cambridge Graphene Centre, National University of Singapore and Hellenic Mediterranean University.

    The Graphene session closes with Graphene Applications - Emerging Opportunities. Speakers include leaders from Imagine Intelligent Materials Pty Ltd, Graphene Tech S.L., Quantag Nanotechnologies and Nanotech Energy.

    Beyond Li-ion Batteries begins the Energy Storage track, featuring talks by Urban Electric Power, NEC Energy Solutions, ESS Inc., Graphene Batteries AS and Primus Power.

    Energy Storage then heads to the topic of Printable, Flexible and Stretchable Batteries, with talks by ubatt, Lionrock Batteries, Jenax Inc., The Swatch Group (U.S.) Inc. - Renata Division and Blue Spark Technologies.

    After lunch, Energy Storage moves into Supercapacitors and High-Power Batteries, led by talks from GBatteries, IDTechEx, Farad Power and Natron Energy.

    Energy Storage closes with a a session on Advanced Battery Manufacturing and Safety Design. THis session will fature talks by Exponent, Coventry University, Soteria Battery Innovation Group and 24M.

    The opening session of the Electric Vehicles track covers Powertrain and Component Innovations, featuring talks by GaN Systems, Phi-Power AG, Porsche Cars North America, LC Drives and Continental Automotive Systems, Hybrid and Electric Vehicles - Powertrain - North America.

    Massive Material Opportunities For Electric Vehicles, the next topic for Electric Vehicles, will be covered by PPG Industries, Toshiba, Xing Mobility, SABIC and CHASM Advanced Materials.

    After lunch, Electric Vehicles heads to Decarbonising Heavy-Duty Transport, with speakers from TuSimple, Ballard Power Systems, TransPower USA and Motiv Power Systems.

    The final topic of Electric Vehicles will be Handling The New Energy System: V2G, V2X and Charging Infrastructure, featuring speakers from Center of Sustainable Energy, Enel X, ChargePoint and Nuvve.
